Our Story

Allied Worker's Association

Allied Workers ’Association Limited (AWAUG) is a women rights organization founded in January 2017 with a focus on promoting the rights of vulnerable and marginalized women at the grassroots. The organization was formally incorporated in Uganda as a company limited by guarantee and having no share capital (Not for profit) on the 9rd of August 2017 under registration No.80020000400721. AWAUG started operating in 2021 with a focus on promoting NDPIII and SDG 8 on Decent work, Access to justice, and Women economic empowerment through Research, Collaborations with CSOs, Trade unions and Government, Education, Social cohesion and Advocacy. AWAUG has actively been behind the enactment of some laws, policies and regulations. We have a membership of 620, amongst are 160 urban refugees in central and Northern Uganda Uganda, 249 are market and street vendors in the slums of kinawataka, kasokoso and kiganda. 150 are from community groups of Kibuku, Kiganda and Busia districts), 36 are members from the trade unions and 25 are from civil society organizations.

To promote Rights, Land Justice and women conomic Empowerment. Though research, Social cohension, capacity building, advocacy and Livelihood for sustainable development.
